Electric Picnic: Bjork, Fatboy Slim, Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand lined up for Stradbally

IT’S been a long time coming – and there were fears it might not happen. But the line-up for this year’s Electric Picnic was finally revealed today.
Bjork, Fatboy Slim, Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand are among the big names revealed for the festival in Stradbally from Friday,
August 30 to September 1.
Celebrating its 10th year, its promoters are offering tickets for what they describe as “the exceptional price” of €149.50 upwards for the three day festival.
With Oxegen appealing to younger festival-goers, there’s plenty for the more mature music fans with other acts m including former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, Eels, Noah & The Whale, St Vincent, Disclosure, Hurts, Warpaint, Ocean Colour Scene, and Irish attractions including singer Mick Flannery and Cavan teenagers The Strypes.
Promoters have said more names will follow.
Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook, will be making his first return to Stradbally's meadows since 2005 with his biggest hits Right Here, Right Now and Praise You already ’90s classic nostalgia.
Another ’90s act returning to the Picnic is fellow headliner Bjork, with the Icelandic singer expected to give midlands music audiences a run through the best known material of her quirky and diverse career.
And it won't just be about music – the Body and Soul Village and Mindfield areas will as every year provide the best non musical and spoken word entertainment.
